USGA Rules of Golf Apply to all Play, except where modified by local rules OR such temporary rules posted prior to league play. For reasons such as safety and pace of play, these local rules apply:

  • When a player's ball has not been found or is known or virtually certain to be out of bounds, the player may proceed under local rule E-5 for a PENALTY OF TWO STROKES. The player may not use this option if the player has played a provisional ball or as an option to take relief for the original ball that is known or virtually certain to have come to rest in a penalty area.
  • Out of Bounds (OB) defined by white stakes.
  • Free relief from the driving range fence and netting behind 9 green.
  • The course-side edge of the homeowner's wall on the left of 3 defines the OB.
  • Split rail fencing defines OB on the following holes: 1, 3, 4, 8, 10, 16, 17 left left and right of 1 fairway, left of 2 fairway, left of 6 tee, and left of 7 fairway.
  • Drop Area for holes 10 and 18 are the Red Teeing grounds, unless otherwise marked.
  • The wash crossing hole 3 is a penalty area. The edge of the penalty area is as marked or defined by its natural boundary. All other washes that cross holes on 6, 11, 13, 14, and 17 are part of the general area.
  • All roads and paths are considered Obstructions.
  • Shots hitting telephone wires must be replayed.

If a player’s ball is in a RED penalty area, she has four options:

  1. play the ball as it lies with no penalty;

  2. use stroke-and-distance relief with one penalty stroke;

  3. use back-on-the-line relief with one penalty stroke;

  4. take lateral relief with one penalty stroke.

Golf Etiquette:

  • PACE OF PLAY is “ready golf”. Keep up with the group in front of you.

  • REPAIR pitch marks on greens, and fill divots with sand provided.

  • KEEP golf carts at least 30 yards from putting surfaces.

  • MUSIC should only be listened to during play with ear buds.

  • CELL PHONES should be off or silences during play.

  • DO NOT WALK on any player's putting line on the green.

  • CANCELLATION: Notification should be provided to the Golf Genius Chair via text or email. For emergency cancellations on the day of play, call the pro shop (520-749-4925 x 1).
